Can you dye BRIGHT RED hair to a DARK AUBURN?

Earlier this week I had my hair bleached and dyed with an intense red. It turned out BRIGHT RED rather than a dark red.. Im wondering if I can dye dark auburn over it? Or a brown color? I bought both Dark Auburn and Medium Rich Chocolate Brown. I was told my hair will be okay to dye over right now, I want it a darker red brown color. Just a little more natural i guess.
