What kind & colour should I dye my hair? please help:)?

So i want to dye my hair for going back to school but every time I do it I hate it afterwards. I'd like it auburn, almost ginger! but my natural hair colour is light brown and i have extremely light skin so it can't be dark at all. Can you reccomend a colour that's semi perminant and i can get in the UK? thanks.
