What color should i use? deep auburn red or red hot? they are both by loreal excellence hicolor for dark hair?

i am afraid if i use the lighter of the two, red hot, it will be to red. but i am alos afraid if i use the deep auburn red it will be to dark. please help. though i am kind of leaning tword the lighter one. i would greatly appreciate it if someon who has used both the colors or either of them could answer. thank you for your time.
