Does anyone have any examples or pictures of hair that is darker on the bottom but lighter on the top ?

I want to get my hair done where there is like a darker brown or auburn color on the lower layers of my hair and then I have my regular dark blonde hair on top layers of my hair but you can still see a little of the brown in the top layers so the colors flow evenly?? Is there a name for this type of technique? Im also thinking of getting a few highlights to for dimension. If anyone can find pics/examples of this or tell me what its called that would be great :) thanks!
