If a dog had bitten, do you put the animal down?
put the dog down ... you already said the dog had a difficult start to life which can screw up a dog ... you said the dogs negative behaviours have been progressing, growling, etc. ... and now the dog has bit your child despite your diligence ... the dog needs to be put down ... i am pretty sure you are going to love your child longer than you will love this now unpredictable dog ... do the right thing by YOUR DAUGHTER and put the dog down ... the dog is not truly an angel unless we define angel differently ... the dog has already bit and seriously enough to require stitches, it has started to growl and show teeth at it's family, it has started fighting your other dog, did i miss the angel part ... accept reality and put your daughter first and euthanize that dog ... anything less is child endangerment ... if the dog bites your child and your child requires medical attention, by law the medical staff must report, bringing child protective services, animal control and the police into the picture which would not be pleasant ... and pray your daughter does not mention it is the second bite because you could then have your daughter removed from your home ... your job is to protect that little girl and not some senior aggressive rottweiler ... it is shocking you are even finding this a hard decision to make ...
